The Armden XC1000 29er Mountain Bike is a great entry level mountain bike for casual, recreational riding that you can also take on beginner off road trails. Its lockable suspension fork let’s you turn on the suspension when the going gets rough, or turn it off when you’re just kicking around on smooth tarmac roads, and everything in between. The disc brakes bring superior braking ability for rain and muddy conditions, if you decide to get dirty. It’s got 1X9 speeds, which is just enough speeds to tackle pavement pounding, curb hopping, and hey, some light dirt and root hopping. It’s light on the wallet, and it will go easy on the trails.
Why this is the bike for you: You’re just getting into Mountain Biking, but you’re more into curb stomping, aka hopping curbs, cruising parking lot obstacles, etc or you want to ride on both the asphalt and sometimes in the off road. Your terrain preference is more like, “Yeah sure, I’ll do a little bit of off-road.
What are you getting: A lightweight, no frills mountain bike that can take on light duty trail riding, and pretty much any kind of urban riding.
